The French team has 2 new faces on board - Marine Lanteri and Margarita Georgeiva.

Marine (above) has been involved with iTILT as a graduate student at the University of Nice and recently defended her thesis based on research she has done with one of our data teachers. This summer she joined us to work on transcribing and translating our recorded interviews from the 9 student focus groups, as well as some of our teacher interviews.

At EuroCALL, Euline Cutrim Schmid gave a presentation entitled “Developing criteria for the design and evaluation of interactive whiteboard based materials: Intermediate findings from the iTILT project”.
As a response to a body of literature in the area of material development in CALL that argues for more explicit links between theory, research and practice, the paper drew on Foreign Language Learning and Second Language Acquisition theories to discuss a set of criteria, which are being developed for the design and evaluation of IWB-based language learning materials.
