IWB Training in German Schools

We have recently completed three iTILT trainings on IWB use in the foreign language classroom. Several teachers from various educational contexts attended (secondary, vocational and higher education) and benefited from the extra training. Not only did the teachers profit from new ideas and examples of how to exploit the IWB, they also had the chance to reflect on their own teaching and the materials they had designed up to that time.

iTILT presentation: ICT for Language Learning, Florence

I presented our project at the Pixel conference on ICT for Language Learning in Florence, Italy this morning.  Our session on ICT-based language teaching solutions included talks on mobile apps (LingoBee, Lyn Pemberton, University of Brighton, UK), web-based stories for deaf children (LODE, Chiara Vettori, Italy), mother-tongue support via technology in Singapore (Sumathi Siva Kumar, Singapore), and two virtual worlds presentations: Anke Berns (OpenSim games for teaching German to Spanish students in Cadiz) and Slawomir Cziepielewski (V-Lang Toolkit for language learners).
